Bought the Chambeyron on your reco. The 2019 Cote Brune was excellent, just got in my 2020. I will admit to having fallen behind on Champet. Any notes on 2017 to current?
re: Champet, just the 2017 Les Fils à Jo. It’s outstanding. I like the wines a lot but don’t cellar them that much other than a few vintages of the LFAJ - can’t buy everything!
Good to hear about Gallet. I had my first not long ago, the 2010, and I was impressed, so I picked up a few others to try (a 15 and a couple 19s).
was about to quip, “Zach must have been there if you’re popping old Valouit.”
I’m pleasantly surprised by the old Graillot showing. Have never had the Guidaude, which I’ll have to seek out.
Not shocked by the 09 Cordeloux which is killer.
Kinda disappointed by the Fonsalette lineup, but not crazy surprised? Case of my “unicorns are dumb” theory When I first started getting into wine, you could get Fonsalette for a song, and they were nice wines and were often stylistically unique compared to other plodding CdP we were opening, but I wouldn’t put them in the same weight bracket as Jamet and the ilk you lot were opening. Big boy Rayas is a bit of a different story, as they can be ethereal, but the prices are bananas.
Cheers
Gallet’s not the easiest to find - I think Lyle Fass is the only importer - but the wines are great.
Poking around on wine-searcher and this turned up:
