TNs--Mike on Tour--Nov 5--Providence and Dinner with Dave

So, this tour began with a visit to Providence. I had hoped to meet more guys, but had a terrific night out with Dave Andreozzi. Some of you may know Dave from his time at WCWN. What you probably don’t know is that Dave and I have been managers in a fantasy baseball full keeper league for 10 years. It was finally time to meet him. We talked about the ups and downs of business, funding kids’ university time, health care and, of course, baseball and wine.

I felt this was the appropriate bring, as it was one of my tribute bottles from my win in the league last year. No question about its authorship on the nose, with blueberry pie in strong evidence. Palate continues that theme and is almost but-not-quite hot. Plums and boysenberry get mixed in over time and it does admittedly start to win me over. I’ll never gravitate to this as a style, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t enjoy it—I did.

It was a great pleasure to break bread with Dave at last. Hope it won’t be the last time.

Cheers,

Mike

Dave lives in Providence? I remember him from the West Coast days. (The site is still around, btw, although vastly reduced in postings from the old days).
