TNs: Joseph Swan is delicious

  • 2001 Joseph Swan Vineyards Zinfandel Mancini Ranch - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (2/28/2010)
14.4% alcohol. Just so pretty. Popped and poured, and going gangbusters from the get-go. It always amazes me how this wine can be so red-fruited and pure. It also ages phenomenally well. Cherry fruit, pronounced minerality, and earthy spice notes. Bright acidity on the palate and a solid, slightly tart finish. A-
  • 2007 Joseph Swan Vineyards Carignane Cotes du Rosa - USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley (2/27/2010)
13.5% alcohol. Hard not to love this wine. It’s got a pretty dark cherry color. Awesome nose of black olives, wild strawberry, and dusty cherry. In the mouth, still quite tight, but it’s just so tasty. The fruit and olive notes deliver a terrific punch, and there’s tangy acidity and still good tannins on the finish. This is going to be a great wine to track over the years. It’s got the stuffing to make it to 2017 for sure. A-

Yes it is flirtysmile

As much as I love Joseph Swan Pinot, I’m intrigued about being able to try some JS Zinfandel or Carignane!

I love the Mancini Zins and the Cote du Rosa’s. Looking forward to starting out there for Barrel Tasting weekend on the 12th.

in other headlines, Lincoln shot.
