TNs: EVERY SQN KNOWN TO MAN AND THEN SOME

charity auctions are one of the best places for a good wine deal!

Sorry. The Gewurtz was the best white of the weekend including the Suey, Boots, Mr. K and a random 90 Yquem. For me, it actually topped most of the reds spare those I put in my Top Ten. BTW, The Boots topped the Suey for most in the crowd and the Yquem showed better than the Mr. K’s though those were not shabby by any means. More to follow.

The Krankel’s would be proud. Nice job boys, the photos say it all!

Wow. Every time I think you guys have outdone yourself you up the game… What’s next, a vertical from large format? =)

E-Raised is one of my personal favorites as well. I have been impressed with the last few Imposter McCoys I’ve had, so sorry to see it didn’t show well.

Great picture guys…

just am amazing event/phots

i know the notes are voluminous, but would appreciate any info on the incognito drinking window. have a mag that’s getting cracked this weekend or next!

Mark,

Incognito has been a real favorite of mine over the past 4-5 years. It took a couple of years in my opinion to unwind and show itself. Unfortunately, the bottle on Friday wasn’t showing all that well. It did not have the deep and rich core of fruit that I am used to with it. Instead it was a bit plain, compact and short. I have to believe that it was merely our bottle because the last time I had it about a year ago it was terrific. Not sure if this one was shut down or just off but it ultimately was disappointing given all the high expectations.

Based on my overall experience I think it still has some nice years ahead though I am not sure it will get any better with long term aging.

After this weekend, I think my new favorite Grenache is Into the Dark which is performing better than ever.

I’ve had the Gewurtz at a showing of the all the art for the labels a few years ago and Manfred and Elaine were there and brought a couple of bottles of the Gewurtz (I brought some Krug, can’t have a party without Champagne). I remember that the Gewurtz was quite good and I talked with Manfred about it. Had a bit of sweetness IIRC.

No Covert Fingers? -mJ

Anyone know how I can convert a pdf into a web link? If so, I can post some very unique notes on all the wine.

The easiest way would be to post the pdf on a website somewhere, then link to it here. I’d be happy to host it if you email it to me.

Dan:

Great notes and awesome photos. Looks like wallpaper to me.

Justin - another amazing SQN event.

Not surprised (but jealous) that Winnick was there. I know he’s busy these days, but do you think any of you can encourage him to post his impressions?

Can you cut and paste the chart as a picture?

Also, I just got back from a Chave dinner where we had the 1998…we were dead on about the 1998 Hospice…would have made for a very interesting comparison.

More notes and pics to come when I finally get the chance…just to show how busy Jeff really is, he was an hour late on Friday…though of course we waited… [cheers.gif]

Unfortunately, given the quantity of bottlings to cover the vertical as we did, there was no way to add the nine pinots as well…though, CF is indeed drinking really, really well right now!

Thanks Ken! If you can PM me your email address again, I’ll send you the pdf. Thanks!

I’d be glad to host your PDF but you are going to have to promise to stop saying " very unique " Unique is unique no need to add any modifiers

should have invited Krankl

Perhaps a bit presumptuous to assume that we didn’t?

A couple of the guys reached out to him…of course.

This certainly is a rather distinctive take on tasting notes, but perhaps quite appropriate for SQN:

GREAT “notes”. rolleyes

Justin,

Kidding aside, was Paul E. Himes drunk AND high when he wrote these “notes”??? Not only do they not say ANYTHING intelligible about the actual wine (except maybe part of the wine’s name in the “note”) but they are borderline offensive and misogynistic. WTF man??? [scratch.gif]
