TNs: Brewer Clifton pinots- Mt. Carmel and SRH

2010 BREWER CLIFTON SANTA HILLS PINOT NOIR- a blend of about 33% Mount Carmel along with portions from 3-D, Machado, Zotovich, Ampelos and Sebastiano Vineyards; great start with a nose of fresh ripe fruit including raspberry and a hint of smoke leading up to palate pleasing chocolate covered wild cherries, spice, vanilla and a touch of cinnamon which extends through the finish; a fine sipper with complexity and depth; consistent notes for 2 bottles within a few days; Steves comment: “Its the best Pinot Noir we`ve ever made”- my palate agrees and I have tracked their wines since the beginning being one of 5 barrel subscribers when they first started.

2009 BREWER CLIFTON MOUNT CARMEL SANTA RITA HILLS PINOT NOIR- now a part of my house wine stash along with the 2010 SRH, this is the second bottle in a week and I`m loving it; lighter in color and after a nose of rose petals, cinnamon, spice, talc, red cherry and vanilla it move on into the palate with some smoke, clove, cinnamon and spice, mild coffee and chocolate and significant wild cherry, black cherry and raspberry fruit; finishes a little dry, but suggestive of ripe tannins and longevity that is certain to follow.
