TNs: Bornard Poulsard, Puzelat-Bonhomme Pet Nat, Ganevat Les Charmois

A few fun wines this weekend.

  • 2009 Philippe Bornard Poulsard Arbois Pupillin La Chamade - France, Jura, Arbois Pupillin (9/28/2014)
Soft fragrant red fruit on the nose. Light, transparent red-brownish color. Tart Strawberry and cranberry fruit with smells of autumn. Light and delicate. Clean. I like it. Drink it and smile. I did.
  • 2010 Domaine Ganevat Côtes du Jura Les Chamois du Paradis - France, Jura, Côtes du Jura (9/28/2014)
Smells like a young white Burg to me. Floral. Almonds. Some butter. Shows some sweetness upfront. Thicker than I expected, but delicious. Good backbone of lean acid and structure. Drinking pretty well, but no rush and I’d like to actually let some of these age one day.
  • 2011 Puzelat-Bonhomme Petillant Naturel - France, Loire Valley, Touraine (9/28/2014)
Fun wine. Almost sparkling cider-like. Refreshing bubbles buffered with some green apple and honey sweetness. Almost like an artisanal green Apple soda. Excellent with fried chicken.

Hipster trifecta! Thanks for the notes.

I know, right. [whistle.gif]
Good wines, though, especially that Pet Nat.
Cheers.
