TNs: a barbaresco and a bubbly

taste: full bodied with a tremendous amount of polish along with medium+ acidity that is more complimentary. Deep and layered with lush tones of custard, wax brioche, lemon meringue, and some florals with a touch of oak

overall: this could probably use a couple of more years to trim some baby fat, but this is wonderful. Tremendous depth on both the nose and palate, this has a larger scale to it without being too much (94 pts.)

  • 2007 Albino Rocca Barbaresco Vigneto Brich Ronchi - Italy, Piedmont, Langhe, Barbaresco (2/21/2012)
nose: tight, but well balanced nose that unravels after a bit. There is oak at first, but it blows off after being open for about 3-4 hours. There is a plushness on the nose with tones of dark red cherries, berries, spices, roasted herbs, and a touch of roses

taste: medium/full bodied with medium+ acidity that is very noticeable. The tannins act more sneaky as they show themselves with more air. Brings some of the fruit of the vintage with a bit of oak at the beginning along with tones of dark red cherries, roasted herbs, spice tones and roses

overall: this was decanted for about 3 hours before finally consusming. The oak at first does show a bit more than I would’ve liked. There is a nice lush quality to the wine, as with other 07 barolos+barbarescos. This could use some time to trim the baby fat, but can be enjoyed right now (91 pts.)

Kieth, hell yeah of the Coeur! Haven’t had the '07 BR yet, need to check it out and see how the winemaking style has advanced.
