TNs: 2006 Cabot Bacon Fat and 2006 Lucia Gary's

Well, I got the wines from John 3 days ago and the same day I dot em I popped one. Big nose of what else, bacon, beef and baking spices around bright fruit. The palate follows with signifficant grilled beefiness and more bright fruits. The acidity level is great in this. The bacon and beef nose seems to dissipate to leave darker fruit behind after about 20 minutes. Not one to hold for very long IMHO but delicious and ready to drink now. Sweet tannins.

The Lucia I opened for a buddy who wanted to try a “good syrah.” Huge Cali nose with dark fruits, pepper, spices and a little heat. The body is full and loaded with red and black fruits. Heavy ammounts of youthful grip that softens some with an hour of air. For all its power its fairly well balanced. I like this wine. Cant wait to see it evolve.

I love the Lucia Syrah’s

Berto, go, go…drink the Lucias. [welldone.gif] I patiently let my 2006s cellar but I will drink one before the end of the year. FWIW, the 2007s just arrived this week and are too now resting. FWIW #2, expect that structure you mentioned to stay in place, as Jeff is using more whole cluster now and I think it’s made the syrahs even better.
