TN's:2005 Caymus SS and 2004 Schrader CCS

I was quite dissapointed in the Caymus SS. It was smooth and correct as a Cabernet, but nowhere near the beauty of the 04. 91 points

The Schrader was a bit dissapointing at first as it had a tinge of barnyard. Eventually that blew off and the wine showed tremendous fruit and all coming in layers. Silky smooth tannins, really solid wine. 95 points

Glad to hear a note about an “aged” Schrader. Mine never last more than a year or two in my cellar. [cheers.gif]

Otto,

Have you had the 2004 SS lately. If so, what are your thoughts on the optimal drinking window?

Bruce, I have not had the wine in 1 year or more, but I remember it as a wine full of everything, very nice.

Now I hope the 06 will be as good as the 04, 'cause I was able to get a 6 bottle case for $65 from my local restaurant on a distributor closeout.
