Couple bottles today as we munched thrugh assorted Dad’s day treats.

2007 Windy Oaks Estate Chardonnay One Acre Schultze Family Vineyard - USA, California, San Francisco Bay, Santa Cruz Mountains (6/21/2009)
Creamy mouthfeel, but not at all flabby. Lower acidity, at least I’m sensing a lower acidity. It features some buttered popcorn, but just hints. Light and fresh. It was heavenly with the crab legs in butter. Holy god, it was good. -
1999 Qupé Syrah Bien Nacido Hillside Estate - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Maria Valley (6/21/2009)
Third bottle this year. This one started to show its age. Fruit is slightly roasted, dark plummy-blueberry fruit. It’s dark and tarry, but it fades quickly. The lively acidity I remember from the bottle in the fall has tapered. I think I caught a coule bottles at just the right time. This one, it’s ok, but nothing more.
