A few from the weekend. The La Mouline, which I have had on several occasions from the same case as this bottle and has always been great, was quite disappointing.
2002 Moët & Chandon Champagne Cuvée Dom Pérignon - France, Champagne (9/12/2010)
Pale yellow color with fine bead. very open nose of baking biscuit, lemons, white flowers. Very intriguing palate of crunchy granny smith apple, lemon-lime, white peaches. Great acidic tingle and looong finish. This reminds me of the '96 on release with perhaps a trifle less acid. Surprisingly approachable now but a long life ahead. (95 pts.)

Impenetrably dark purple. Nose of dark black fruits like blackberries, scorched earth, minerals. Huge mouthfeel, spice, pepper, black juicy fruits, lots of exotic minerality. The finish was long and a bit alcoholic. This wine needs some time to knit together but in 3-5 years it will be spectacular. Hold. (96 pts.)

Light purple color. This was probably not a correct bottle. The nose was subdued with some white pepper and raspberry fruit. In the mouth everything was dialed down several notches. I got some bacon, pepper, and light red fruits but not the exotic spiciness and long finish that I love in La Mouline. It wasn’t corked, but perhaps heat damaged? Judgement deferred. 1988 Château d’Yquem - France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Sauternes (9/12/2010)
Bright gold color. Intoxicating nose of honeyed apricots, fresh pineapple, caramel. The midpalate on this was incredible. Highly viscous, very complex flavors of honeyed tropical fruits but not sugary at all. A taut acidic spine throughout kept the balance extraordinary. This is still painfully young, and must be a well kept example. Mama mia! (96 pts.)
