I saw some for sale. Any TNs/Impressions?
Bump.
Bought one at K&L.
Even though it holds a stunning ‘99’ average on cellertracker, I was hoping for some non-cellertracker impressions/TNs.
1 left at K&L for $250 for .375
I know…fairly pricey.
Haven’t had it but Salil tells me it’s fantastic.
Hi Jay,
From one Sherry lover to another, thanks for your input. Here’s salil’s most recent TN for it. I dig his notes for the acidity level.
Me likes acidity.

Rieslings, Riojas, and old fortified wines at Marco’s (Milford, CT): Second time I’ve had this wine, and the second time I’ve been absolutely blown away. It has the appearance and consistency of motor oil, and unreal complexity and depth. It’s impossible to fully catalogue the flavours here - layers of caramel, roasted nuts, figs, coffee, dark chocolate, all sorts of deeper and more savoury earthy and woody notes… so complex, powerful and intense with palate-staining concentration, absurd acidity that keeps this remarkably well balanced despite its immense sweetness, and a finish that I was tasting many minutes after my last sip. Monumental.
I have a note at home, but I’m not at home. Won’t get back until the 1st.
Damn it, man…get home.
Thanks for the notes.
We represent these but we only brought in a handful of bottles and did not get to taste it.
Damn it, man…get home.
Even I gotta earn a living.
I have had that wine twice, and both times it’s blown me away. It is one of the most stunning wines I’ve had, and as far as dessert wine goes - it is up there with any of the greatest TBAs or Eisweins I’ve had.
And yes, the acidity’s absurd. The balance is incredible.
Sold out.
Nice work Salil!
Whats the grape variety?
Moscatel.
one of the few 100 point wines in my life. there is nothing that can make that wine better (other than the price)
we tasted this from the botta at Valdespino and from the bottle. magic. no other words are possible.
this was my note:
"yup…100 … the first wine i could find no faults in what so ever…NONE…none…also thats my chances of getting a bottle of this… yup…
nose of…well…we decided to say CATHEDRAL…nose that showed ancient age of the wine, power and grace…dry fruit, star anice, its keeps shifting, cinnamon, coffee, tofee, nuts, oranges…AHHHHH … in the mouth it just coats you…comepletly, candied oranges, figs, raisins… acidity must be monsorous to keep this sugar at bay… WOW…no words left… PERFECT. (100 points)
Sounds pretty good.
Would this wine degrade very quickly from an open bottle?
I’m hoping that it will perform like a Madeira where I may have little ‘shots’ of it over an extended time of weeks, cherishing each drop.
Haven’t seen it anywhere in Australia. Must look for it overseas.
Barry - you can leave this open for years with virtually no change
Nope - I opened a bottle earlier this year, held some leftovers for over a month, and if anything, it showed even more aromatic depth by the time I finished the bottle a few weeks after.
