My wife’s birthday today…I picked up some lobster tails and prime filets from Costco.
NV Veuve A. Devaux Champagne Crème de Cuvée Demi-Sec
This was perfect for what my wife birthday. I quickly poured it into a decanter which opened it up a bunch. Light yellow color with steady, tiny bubbles. It was obviously a bit sweet (being a demi sec), but not overpowering at all. This was a wife pleaser tonight!
1999 Chimney Rock Stags Leap Cabernet
This was the wine that got us into drinking red wine. Pretty dark color with very slight bricking on the rim. On the nose I get red raspberries, leather and a bit of bell pepper. On the palate sweet red cherry with classic stags leap cabernet notes. The finish is long with tobacco playing against the acidity. Very well integrated and balanced. Unbelievably smooth very silky on the palette…if you are a fan of Stags leap cabernet fan like me…you will love this wine. This will always be a go to in my house!
