Chateau de Fieuzal, Pessac-Leognan, (blanc), 2001
This is really nice. Color is medium burnished gold, with a nose of jackfruit & jasmine flower. Quite exotic flavors are buoyed by nice acidity, excellent balance, and not over-the-top at all. I’d say drinking primo. 13% A-/A
Domaine Parize, Givry, ‘Champ Nalot’, 2015
13% Very fresh and lively. Ripe for a Givry, with great upfront fruit. Now and over the next 6 years or so. A-/B+
Michel Lafarge, Volnay, ‘Clos des Chênes’, 2004
Yeah, ok, so not a great year, and - as you can imagine - savory rules the day. Subdued scents and flavors, but definitely savory, with a slight smokiness to the cherry. B+
