Had company on Fri night, so opened:
- TablasCreek Vermentino Estate/PasoRobles (Rolle; 13.5%; www.TablasCreek.com) 2009: Med.dark gold color; rather nutty/toasted hazelnuts/slight oxidized rather honeyed/old Rhonish slight gout de petrol/old Riesling light floral/musky/marigolds quite complex nose; tart rather honeyed/toasted hazelnuts/old Rhonish bit old R/gout de petrol/pungent rich/honeyed bit floral/musky flavor; very long/lingering nutty/old Rouss/toasted hazelnuts some old Reisling rather rich/lush/floral/marigolds quite complex finish; lost most all the bright/floral fruit and has developed into a very interesting/complex old-Rhone/old-R wine.
- Siduri PinotNoir PisoniVnyd/SantaLuciaHighlands (14.9%) 2012: Med.color; strong PN/black cherry light herbal/peppery/rosemary some smokey/pencilly/Siduri oak quite beautiful/floral/perfumey nose; bit tart fairly rich/lush very strong/black cherry/bing cherry/PN bit herbal/rosemary/peppery/SLH spicy slight citric/tangy/grapefruity light toasty/pencilly/oak flavor w/ sme bitey tannins; very long light herbal/peppery/rosemary strong black cherry/PN slight tangy/grapefruity light toasty/pencilly/oak finish; a lovely/structured/balnced PN that should go out 10 yrs or more.
- Failla PinotNoir Vivien SonomaCoast (14.1%) 2007: Med.dark color w/ some bricking; rather toasty/charred/oak some bing cherry/PN/peppery very spicy bit earthy/Burgundian complex very aromatic nose; fairly tart quite peppery/spicy/PN/bing cherry/black cherry light earthy/Burgundian some toasty/charred/smokey/oak flavor w/ modest/hard tannins; very long peppery/bing cherry/PN/very spicy some toasty/charred/oak slight earthy/Burgundian finish w/ modest/bitey tannins; developing some nice complexity & still needs several yrs yet.
