TN: Thibault Liger-Belair NSG LSG 2008

The most recent was a 2012 Aux Reas … and then some 2010s and 2009s … the ´12 was less oak influenced (but it is Village).
The Grand crus 09/10 were quite oaky, but not too much, only in need of considerable time …

Thibault made tremendous '08s. Seek out the Renardes if you can find it.
I harvested with him in '11, Clos Vougeot was memorable, as he has holding from top to bottom and to feel the deeper soils/larger berries get progressively more millerandé/small with firmer, stonier soil as you progress to the back wall is something I will not forget.
I also will not forget the la Paulée celebration at the estate, will Thibault tossing youmg ladies over his hip with remarkable ease. The dude can dance!!! A wonderful human being, Thibault.
As an aside, US pricing has gotten silly on anything Cotes de Nuits…
