Tenuta dell’Ornellaia Le Volte 2006:
Sort of a jumbled mess of explosive berry fruit, dark plums, vanilla oak and weird acid. IMO this is not well-balanced or interesting. It is simple, monolithic and its slap-you-in-the-face personality is mildly offensive. For the price I would look so many places elsewhere. And its too bad, because the other wines these guys make are very good, if not great. 85 points
