StCosme AC: CdR Blanc (13.5%; 30% Viog/20% Rouss/30% Marsanne/20% Picpoul de Pinet) 2009: Light gold color; rather floral/Viog/peachy/lush fruit slight stoney/earthy very attractive nose; rather soft some stony/mineral some floral/honeysuckle/Rouss very Calif-like flavor; med.short soft light earthy/stony some floral/honeysuckle/Rouss finish; not a lot of RhoneBlanc character and much like a TablasCreek Cotes du Tablas Blanc; a pleasant Rhone blanc buut just that. $25.00
I enjoy St. Cosme’s whites quite a bit, not not at $25. Where the heck are you getting it!? I regularly pay $15 for the CDR blanc and $10 for the Little James Basket Press. At those prices, these are fun little wines. Nothing earth-shattering, but very nice for mid-week dinners. I would not buy it at $25.
Got this btl in SantaFe…where the wine pricing is not too terribly out of line w/ the rest of the country. I thought it a pretty decent
$20/btl Rhone Blanc. But not nearly the steal of the Emergence White from TJ’s at $7/btl.
