TN: Sorbe (Quincy), Sineann, Beaucastel, Saxum, Jadot

Wines consumed on Father’s Day:

2007 Jean Michel Sorbe Quincy
Golden in color with slight green tinge to it. Clear and bright. The nose is nice with minerals and pink grapefruits. Slightly reticent though. On the palate, this is smooth, mineral laden and nice. Nothing special though. It was around $19 Ohio, and perhaps worth it. 50+3+12+16+6=87

2005 Louis Jadot Cote de Beaune Villages
This was disappointing. Ruby red in color, clear and bright. The nose is giving up little. Perhaps some tart cherry juice. On the palate, this is simple and has a bit of tart cherries. Is this sleeping? I liked this better a couple of years ago, but I would have expected more from this at this point. 50+4+10+15+5=84

2007 Sineann Red Table Wine
A blend of all the leftovers at the winery. Ruby/purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is interesting with raspberries and plums and slightly earthy. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is slightly tart with raspberries and cherries. Easy to gulp. 50+4+12+16+6=88

2005 Beaucastel Coudoulet
Purple in color, ruby at the rim. The nose has black raspberries, dark cherries, slight floral notes and some grilled meats. Full bodied. This is till primary and fruit laden. Lots of purple/rd fruits. Nice finish. Drinking young but well now. 50+4+12+17+7=90

2006 Saxum Heartstone Vineyard
This was not as big as some Saxum’s, but that is relative. Inky purple in color, opaque and bright. The nose has black raspberries, dark cherries, grilled meats and pepper. Full bodied. No trace of the 15.6% Alc. Smooth. Tons of fruit, this disappeared quickly. Juicy and easy to drink. 50+4+13+18+8=93
