TN: Some QPR's

Some wines from the last couple of weeks, mostly QPR’s:
2006 Borsao Monte Oton
$10. 100% Garnacha from Camp do Borja, Spain. Ruby/purple in color, mostly clear and bright. Nice nose of cherries. Nice texture. This is an easy to drink wine with some anise on the finish. Also a bit of cherry cough syrup on the palate, distracting but not too bad. Excellent QPR. 50+3+12+17+6=88

2007 Chateau Pesquie Terrasses
$16. 70% Grenache/30% Syrah. Ruby/purple in color. The nose is cherries, strawberries, and black raspberries with spice. Medium bodied. On the palate, the syrah seems to dominate with black raspberries and spice and black pepper. Nice balance and probably need 30 minutes of air to open. Very easy to drink. 50+4+12+17+7=90

2007 Chateau de Segries Cotes du Rhone
$14. Ruby/purple in color, mostly clear and bright. The nose is cherries, dark cherries and anise. Some spice. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is good, but not as good as some other 07’s. Cherries and cough syrup. OK finish. 50+4+11+16+6=87

2007 Sineann Cabernet Sauvignon Baby Poux
I have posted on this before. A great value in relative terms. Purple in color, mostly opaque. A nose of cassis, smoke, leather and cedar. Full bodied. Showing some complexity but really needs about 5 to 7 years. Nice finish. I think a full bottle of this is something like $42. 50+4+13+18+8=93

2007 Inama Vin Soave Classico
$14. Pale silvery gold in color, clear and bright. The nose is minerals driven with some limes and almonds. Medium bodied with a slick texture. Nice acidity. The palate has lemons and miscellaneous citrus. Lots of minerals. Nice finish. 50+3+13+17+7=90

2006 Font du Vent Cotes du Rhone les Promesses
$12 Plastic cork. Ruby/purple in color, mostly opaque and bright. Mature nose with cherries, dark cherries, plums and earthy funk. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is smooth and drinking well. Some layering going on. I would not hold more than a year or two, but lots of pleasure right now. 50+4+12+17+6=89

2007 Lenotti Rosso Passo Veneto IGT
$13. 50% Merlot/50% Sangiovese. Purple/ruby in color, mostly opaque and bright. The nose is nice enough with cherries, dark cherries and some tobacco. Medium bodied. On the palate, this is simple with cherries. Short finish. Nice easy quaff and good party wine. 50+4+12+16+5=87
