TN Saxum 2007 Broken Stones

I loved the Saxum wines from the early 2000’s, though I gotta admit recent years have been a bit over the top for me.

Popped this last night and decanted for a few hours. Quite nice, and not as big as I expected. Very upfront fruit, blueberry and cassis, with a fair amount of vanilla. Probably more oak than I would like but not overpowering. Really approachable now. Not the most complex wine in the world. Drink with steak. 92 points

Personally, I feel Justin’s wines have gotten more focussed and balanced in recent years. Interesting! [scratch.gif]

Greg,

Is that your dog in your avatar? Can you post a larger version in the dog thread?

Oh yeah, Saxum is great!
