TN: Savigny-Les-Beaune La Dominode 2008 Pavelot

This is a very nice 2008 that is to my palate more enjoyable, more Burgundy, more Savigny then the 2009 which I have tasted a few times.

The color is medium ruby red. The nose has a bit of earth and underbrush, just a tiny touch of oak and a bit of almost Vosne like spice. It has a nice structured palate of dark berry fruit, some slightly astringent tannins on the tip of the tongue, and a long deep finish. This bottle had quite a bit of tartaric crystals at the bottom. What a nice wine!

This vintage of Dominode needs some time for the tannins to integrate, but should really be enjoyable in another 5 to 7 years. As always this is one of the great values in Burgundy!!

Thanks for the note. I’ve got a few vintages of Dominode in my cellar and haven’t checked in in a while. Sounds like you weren’t a fan of the 09? I think I’ve only had it once, and didn’t buy any.

Tasted these at Domaine last summer.
Love em–thanks for the update

Drank a couple bottles of 2005 this past week. Powerful stuff. Good but probably has several more years to go.
