TN’s: A couple whites from the week, Arcadian - Bedrock.

  • 2012 Arcadian Chardonnay Clos Pepe Vineyard - USA, California, Central Coast, Sta. Rita Hills (8/27/2020)
Golden yellow, nutty advanced nose for the age of the wine. Creamy texture, granny smith apple and straw, tart, long Creamy tart finish. Very nutty. Checked in on day 2 and it had fallen apart. Purchased at auction and somewhere along the way it didn’t get treated very well storage wise. Would love to try this again under better circumstances. NR (flawed)

  • 2019 Bedrock Wine Co. Sauvignon Blanc Judge Family Vineyard - USA, California, Sonoma County, Bennett Valley (8/27/2020)
Light straw color, lanolin, lemon zest, slightly oily texture. Honeysuckle, fresh cut grass, lip smacking acidity. Bitter grapefruit pith on a long lingering finish. From cellar temp to room temp this is delicious and doesn’t miss a beat throughout the temp change. Lots of complexity to this wine not knowing whether it’s a Semillon, Chenin Blanc or Sauv Blanc from one moment to the next. Really fun and hard to put down. Almost been through a case since release.

I love the Judge S-B. I put an extra 6-pack of the 2019’s away for consumption in the summer of 2021, but I think about them all the time… Cheers!
