TN: Rotie Grenache Blanc '23...(short/boring)

Bruce brought this Rotie to share at our Pig+Fig tasting ystrday:

  1. RotieCllrs GrenacheBlanc WashState (11.9%; www.RotieCellars.com) Papineau/WallaWalla 2023: Light yellow/gold color; some stony/mineral/bit steely very light GB/floral/carnations some Rhonish pleasat nose; very tart/tangy/acidic lightly floral/carnations/GB rather lean/austere stony/mineral/Rhonish flavor; long very stony/mineral/austere finish; not a whole lot of GB fruit & lots of mineral/stony character; much like a young young/austere Rhone & needs age; should age well over next 4-6 yrs. $32.00

More gribblebarf from TheBloodyPulpit:

  1. Generally GB shows a lot of floral fruit. This wine was marked by a real paucity of GB fruit and rather Rhonish/mineral in character. Nonetheless, it showed a lot of richness & texture & I suspect that, with age, it will become a very interesting Rhone white.
