This is the best white Burgundy that I have drunk in a long time. The minerals, citrus-infused white fruits and a hint of match stick get up into the nasal passages in a hurry/fury. On the palate, like all of the other great 2010s, there is not a seam to be found - powerful attack, mouth-filling mid-palate and vibrating, sustained finish, all while remaining light on its feet. The fruit from which this was made must have been beautiful. Big time white Burgundy for $105.
Disclaimer: I sell this wine.
Disclaimer, I buy wine. Can I get 2 of them, hold for fall?
sounds great for a young C. Charlie.
Indeed. I expected to find it giving up little, but couldn’t have been more wrong. No one will get cheated drinking this wine young (and old, if the curse is avoided).
I pulled the cork on a “baby” version of this wine, the 2010 Rollin Pernand-Vergelesses 1er cru “Sous Fretille,” and I can tell you that wine is pretty impressive in its own right.
Indeed it is. One can definitely see the similarities in these wines. Thanks for the tip regarding Rollin, Harry.
