2006 Penner-Ash Pinot Noir Dussin Vineyard Willamette Valley, OR 14.5% alc…
Finally a Pinot I stashed that was worth cellaring! Aside from a surprise recent 2007 Melville Verna’s PN, I’ve been fairly chapped at the success rate of the West Coast Pinots from 2005-2007 that I put in storage. This is the exception. Bottle as weighty as a brick, the wine inside shows healthy non-fatigued red color, and smells and tastes fully integrated. Rich barrel spice, cherries galore, buttery culinary herb, and foresty acids and tannins are aligned and jiving as one. Delicious from entry to lengthy finish. This wine has a couple more years on it easily, which the wild zesty mid-palate and lingering exit seem to promise at this point.
