Tasted from 375 after a double decant and about 30 min of air. As soon as you put your nose in the glass you know this is not the stereotypical over the top extracted blue goo. Very zippy red fruit with mineral underpinned by spice, leather, and meaty notes. The color is deep but carries the tones of blood and orange hues with a reflective nature as opposed to the thick matte purple from so many Aussies. The palate is vibrant with a beautiful spine of acidity and tannin supporting very deep red fruit. The mid palate has nice minerality that gives way to a bright and grippy finish. A very well put together wine that needs at least a few years and/or a much longer decant time even out of 375. I am kicking myself for not buying ALL of these…closeout locally at $4.99.
Wow, sounds great! For $4.99 I would have taken them all on the spot. I got a free Mag of 04 a few weeks ago so I got my St. Henri deal of a lifetime. it’s a great wine.
