In a very enjoyable place. This showed super reductive on release, but with time the wine has really smoothed out in every sense of the word.
Aromas are blackberry, black currant, narcissus and smoke. There’s subtle pepper and the vegetal/floral notes that make me wonder about some stems in the vats.
The tannins have melted into the wine, but they are still there to provide structure, though they do poke out a little on the finish. The wine is velvety and mouthfilling in the mid palate, but is still a graceful middleweight.
Dark fruit, flowers, and a little mix of veggies and spice. Very food-friendly. Not a fat wine. Very good, and improves with air. No need to race to drink this up.
