Stern, solid, manly-man wine. Way too young, this needs time. Iron, blood, boxwood and hedgerow trimmings, campfire smoke. Rustic and ‘old-in-time’ feeling. Fortunately, the weight is mid-weight, so is not onerous. From 375ml.
Thanks for the human sacrifice. I was thinking of trying my first in about 10 years.
Agree, thanks for taking one for the team. I will just keep letting these sleep for quite a while.
same here. I can always use more encouragement to keep my 2005s buried in the back.
Opened a 2005 Gravains over the weekend. Showed great secondary character on the nose, but strong, dry tannins on the finish. Wasn’t a bad choice to open, but certainly could use some time.
Dominodes is their best wine (and fortunately, their largest holding), not surprised this needs time, but glad to see the vineyard character is showing well at this stage. Thanks for the note!
