TN: PaolaScavino Sorriso '13...(short/boring)

Cracked this tonight, regretably:

  1. PaolaScavino Sorriso DOC: Langhe (13.5%; Chard/Sauvignon/Viognier) 2013: Very light yellow color w/ filmy scum of tiny bubbles on the surfact; light stony/earthy slight floral/Viog very low-key nose; brisk/citric thin/insipid slight metallic/stony slight spritz flavor; med.short brisk/citric/stony vapid/insipid finish; one small step above SanPellegrino; a pretty vapid/insipid white overly freshned w/ CO2; like an incredibly dull Soave w/ CO2. $18.00 (AV)

A wee BloodyPulpit:

  1. This Sorriso was the perfect accompaniment w/ the glass of water I had.

Sounds awesome.

I haven’t kept up with the Scavinos at all. Read the note quickly (despite all Tom’s interesting content the layout and style isn’t conducive to much more than skimming, sometimes sadly) and thought there wasn’t a misprint in the title, this must be a spinoff by the daughter Paola trying to make up for the sins of, not the grandfather Paolo, but the father Enrico. Alas…

Not a lot of sorrisi from Scavino wines.
