TN: NV St. Cosme Little James' Basket Press(with some bottle age)

I’m not sure when this was released (bottle doesn’t say) but it clearly has a few years on it. I’m fairly certain it’s the bottling before the current one since Spec’s had it on clearance but also had a bottling at regular price. At first, I thought it was definitely close to dead but after a few hours, it really began to show its stuff. I bought this on closeout at $5.99 and it’s got to be the best wine I’ve ever had at that level other than Cristalino Cava. On the nose, plums and a little raisin but very pleasant. On the palate, the tannins are fully resolved and I get a lot of red fruits- strawberries, a little cherry etc. I just can’t believe this shows so well for such a cheap wine. A nice experience and I’m sure the newest blend including the 07 juice is much better. Decant for a few hours to get a better showing. /**
