    Been 18 months since my last note on this wine and it has evolved. Beautiful color, gold with a peach hue. Nose is very autolytic and nutty showing more of that 50% perpetual than last time. 10/23 disgorgement. Bruised apple, pink grapefruit, yellow mango comes across a touch sweet for a no dosage but I’m wondering if that’s some of the lingering effect of 18 mo on lees. Wonderful mousse, finish is a bit steely/mineral laced, acidity spot on. Drinking right out of the cellar with no chill. Might drop it in the ice bin for a few minutes and revisit or maybe not. Liking what it offers right now though a touch heavy. A chill might help that.

This is a brilliant Champagne. Not the best by any standard, but it has great body and presence. It’s so good from magnum, btw. (Hope you’re well, sir.)

I was a big fan of the 2014-2018 perpetual, it showed quite differently from this one, very lean and mineral driven. The ‘21 base on this one changed things a lot. Not bad, just different.

Agreed. This version is more opulent. Still, I like it.
