NV Equipo Navazos La Bota de Manzanilla 111 “Florpower MMXVIII” - Spain, Andalucía, Manzanilla de Sanlúcar de Barrameda (8/2/2024)
– cracked and poured –
– tasted non-blind over 15 days –
– saca de Febrero de 2022 –

NOSE: smells like a Fino; quite expressive, and a touch nutty.

BODY: yellow-orange color; medium-light bodied.

TASTE: very much a Fino — even slightly oxidative; bloomy rind cheese; a bit nutty; finished on Day 15, and it was still showing excellently. At first, I was kind of taken aback that this presented as a Fino, as previous iterations of this bottling have been dry, non-fortified whites — this bottling, however, is a legit Fino, so they decided to switch it up this time — more explanation can be found on their website, for those who are curious. Great Manzanilla!

Very cool. There’s a local shop near me that has a bunch of Equipo Navazos on the shelf and I’ve been considering picking up some of them. Everything I’ve heard about the wines absolutely intrigues me.

If you like Sherry you’d be making a huge mistake not to buy them, assuming the pricing isn’t stupid.

Interesting. I wasn’t a huge fan of some earlier Florpower releases so I stopped following them. Might need to try this one out now

If the shop is in the Cbus area, let me know. I get there from time to time.
