Nicolas Maillart Rose Brut NV:
Salmon/pink color, with a firm, slightly musky nose (think dirty cherries, pithy blood orange and a tropical fruit rind I can’t quite put my finger on). This is a sneaky wine, one that is pure and driven, complete with tart redcurrant and hints of citrus and loads of elegance. I say sneaky probably because I had no real expectations for this wine. And because the nose certainly didn’t suggest the feminine, understated beauty the wine really was. I will definitely drink more of this. 90+ points
