N.V. Philipponnat Champagne Cuvée “1522” - France, Champagne (1/8/2009)
9/01 disgorgement. Pale gold on the glass with a racy acidity, this medium bodied wine was approachable at this point in time. Flavors/aromas of biscuit, citrus, dough, shellfish ( which I love in Champagne ) and savoury/earthy notes. Medium on the finish. A very fine bottle of Champagne but it seemed to lack the excitement of a previous bottle. 50+12+12+8+8 = 90 (90 pts.)
