Thank you for all the notes and thoughts. Just diving into Krug and way behind the curve on my learnings. How long do you suggest holding the 167 before it starts to strut its stuff and how does it compare to the other recent vintages?
Cracking a 375 of this tonight; we’ll see how it is.
It was definitely more approachable than the 166 this early. I’d put it behind 163-165 atm but it’s very good considering the base vintage.
I had it very recently along with '08 Dom and several other Champagnes, and I liked the 167 more than the '08 Dom. Really great Champagne.
just saw a $168 per bottle offer, $75 for halves. Seems pricy.
Alan- where did you see that please and thank you.
I got it from wine.com for ~60 a half or less with the coupon code. Hdh had it for 143/btl recently too
Thank you both. Not cheap these days
Don’t exactly know.
But in my experience a grande cuvée is better 5-10 years after date of degorgement
Thank you
This. Even 10-20. The grand cuvee age so well I’ve stopped buying the vintage…except 88 and 96.
Really good info from both of you- thank you.
