This stuff was like super dense dark syrup. If you had some pancakes you could pour it right over. Strong candied raisins on the nose with lots of fig and stem notes. On the palate it’s really rich dark honey wrapped in orange peel spice… liquefied dark honey if you will . Lots of dark coffee notes on the finish with burnt sugar. Wish I had more time with it, but it was the end of the night… it was such a heavy wine I could only drink so much. It was good, but wasn’t complex enough to really tickle my fancy but it was really exciting to be able to try such a rare bottling. I’m sure it’ll develop over time, it was basically popped and poured. Hell we left 75% of the bottle

what if i said this was a RP 100!?!? The CT notes /scoring from others reflects it being 100, but it surely didn’t taste like anything near that. I wonder if tasted blind anyone would score it that high

Charlie,

Go back to it and try it again. It should show more in the aromatics with some air. It’s not going to go anywhere either, no rush to finish it. I think this is a phenomenal wine…“back in the day” when it was around $100 retail it was really a steal. Less so at current pricing, but I could drink the regular stuff at $15 all day long. Or you can get the Buller Calliope, that is another stunner.
