Well actually the only ladoix of the year, but this was fairly compelling.
Jean-Claude Boisset Ladoix 1er Cru ’ Hautes Mourottes’ 2008
Subtle reduction on opening, gives way to reveal tight and penetrating red fruit and floral aromas. On the palate it’s borderline strict, but it’s cast in minerals and earth and has real crunch, precision and sneaky length. Serious juice at a not so serious price. Will be super in 5 or so years.
Possibly Ladoix of the decade ?
Undoubtedly Anthony! Although the vineyard is only a 4 iron from Corton i’m told!
If it was my 4-iron, that would be very close indeed!
4 iron seems about right
We had 05 Ladoix Les Chaillots last night, my final bottle from a 6 pk
Band Aid had invaded
I’m away from home so I couldn’t raid the cellar for something else ![[head-bang.gif] [head-bang.gif]](/uploads/db3686/original/2X/b/b1cd199e4b2b2988b5107c3c9598fd28dc92a776.gif)
It would be hard to beat the 2008 Ladoix Premier Cru from Capitain-Ganerot I had last Saturday…
This appellation is not at all well-known, and there are some great values hiding out there…
