TN: La Fleur Petrus 2006

image by de faria, on Flickr

Medium ruby in colour having lost its youthful lustre. A little shy on the nose but showing some nice floral aromas, spicy oak, darker fruits of plum and cherry, and herbs. Youthful and intense palate, medium bodied and elegant in style with fresh acidity. The texture is moving towards a classic Pomerol sensuousness. Flavours of chocolate, darker fruits, baking herbs and spices and finishing with a fine ripe tannic grip. Showing some nice fruit sweetness, this wine is still pretty primary and should benefit from more time in the cellar. 91+

Hi Wayne, sounds good but very young to me, need to keep your hands off the other bottles.

Cheers Brodie

Thanks for the TN Wayne. So you found the 2006 reasonably approachable and enjoyable this young? I guess it’s not a 2005 and it is the second label …

Yes Howard…Pomerol is my…second love.

Come on guys, where is your sense of adventure?
My Father’s Day pick me up!!

It’s well known that I have a problem with young wines.

Happy Father’s Day tomorrow Wayne. I’m with you, if you can get some pleasure out of a wine younger, why not?

Edit: just to be clear, I’m not referring to your avatar here.

Thought you would like that, snapped it when you were not watching…
