TN: La Fleur Petrus 2003

La Fleur Petrus 2003:
Had this at dinner, with a number of other wines, on Friday night. Still not this biggest fan of this vintage in Bordeaux but I think this wine may have been a tad underrated (it usually is IMO). It had excellent color (ruby/purple) and a vibrant nose, loaded with sweet cherries, smoke and cedar. The wine is a fantastic mix red plums, vanilla, dark, meaty cherries, some bramble, cedar and damp earth. At the end of a healthy, expansive finish are some notes of mocha and truffle and precise acidity. This wine is preforming very well right now, much higher than my expectations. 92 points
