*Kuehn Sylvaner 2007 (Appellation Alsace Controlée) – 12%, synthetic closure. A light appley, grapey nose, quite unassuming. The palate carries a little residual sugar, but is suitably balanced by a real apple zest. There’s a touch of baked apple on the finish, something weighty and lush. Really rather pleasant, but perhaps overpriced? A touch simple, but it slipped down the throat like spring water. 6.5/10 [ 3 ] £7.50 {Nicolas} 29/09/09
