TN: Jadot Griotte Chambertin 1996

Aired for a full day (accidentally-a long story) we took it to a local restaurant. Deep crimson, very primary cherry aromas, the wine showed good acidity, but none of the shrillness I have found in other 1996s. When I think about it, and I have tasted quite a few Jadot 1996s, I cannot recall any that had problems of high acidity.

Back to the wine; still showed young, but very promising, and in this early stage of maturity paired well with a filet, veal and sweetbreads. Overall, very tasty 92

The shrillness of 96 is retreating rapidly now.

Nice note, Mark.
I’ve been big on '96 1ers for a year or so now.
I’m a big fan, but I tend to like a good bit of acid.
Jadot did well in my experiences, too.
