TN: Jacques Lassaigne Les Vignes de Montgueux B de B

Jacques Lassaigne Champagne Les Vignes de Montgueux Blanc de Blancs NV

Our first time with this producer. My husband picked this up for Valentine’s Day, but we drank other stuff and it got lost in the shuffle.

Big, fluffy mousse and persistent, zippy beading with a creamy texture and notes of yeasty brioche, lemon curd, sweet frangipane, and apricot. Round and full, but with a finish that’s very long and unexpectedly bitter (not in a bad way). This is our second bottle of wine in an hour, so we’re getting a little more flowery with the descriptors. [blush2.gif]

Paired with approximately one and a half sleeves of saltines. We’re nothing if not pedestrian. A very enjoyable Blanc de Blancs for <$50.
