I have gotten several very good NZ SB’s at Trader Joe’s, and this one is no exception. I think I paid maybe $7? 2008 Vin-Koru Marlborough NZ Sauv Blanc.
C- Light straw
A- Pretty typical SB nose- fresh mown grass, grapefruit, gooseberry. Not as over the top as some can be on the nose, but quite typical.
T- Nice acidity, pink grapefruit, Meyer lemon, fresh cut grass. The citrus flavors have a hint of sweetness to them- not as in RS, but just a slight fruit sweetness that is pleasant. Not an earth shattering wine by any means, but for half the price of something like Kim Crawford, a solid NZ offering.
