2006 Brewer-Clifton Pinot Noir Zotovich - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Rita Hills - Sta. Rita Hills (10/4/2009)
Popped and poured, consumed during the Giants win over the Chiefs. Wonderful nose, fresh, floral. Bright fruit, sour cherry and cranberries. Underbrush, sage, earthy. Notably absent were the astringent stem tannins that seem to permeate most Brewer-Clifton pinots and render them undrinkable when young. This was remarkably well balanced and delicious. Only after being open for a couple of hours and warming up did the alcohol become noticable. A nice treat and a very pleasant surprise. -
2004 Saxum Broken Stones - USA, California, Central Coast, Paso Robles (10/4/2009)
Popped and poured, enjoyed during the Giants win. A hint of spritz quickly dissapated. Gamy, earthy, rich, powerful, balanced, delicious.
