This is a really good Gevrey 1er Cru. Probably one of the best young Gevrey 1er’s that I can recall drinking.
This wine is currently all about pure, intense, deep fruit. Then there is a touch of minerality and earthy overtones. All this is brought together with great balance, fine acidity and plenty of soft tannic structure. This has everything I want in a young wine. I would guess that 2018, ten years from the vintage would be a good time to start opening the other three bottles that I purchased.
What a nice young Gevrey from Faiveley. There definitely has been a change at Faively in the last few years.
