2010 Terrer d’Aubert Tarragona, Spain- This wine from the first whiff reminds me of Laurel Glen, slightly herbaceous on the nose but deep and intense. This wine to me is fantastic, it’s not all about fruit, but about brambly cassis, earth, a little pencil lead with leaf, virtually no barrel notes. The palate is medium weight with refined fruit (darker, again cassis) with a little crayola, leaf, round mouthfeel and moderate acid to carry it through. I’m a huge fan of this wine and I think it will age fairly well, at least enough to see it’s 15th Bday.
Disclosure- I sell this wine
Nice note!
Thank you for posting it!
You had me with Laurel Glen and now I have to try and find it.
