TN: Elio Altare 1990 Vigna Larigi

Last night I decided to share the bottle of 1990 Larigi with my family that Elio had gifted me during a visit in La Morra in January. Wow, what a treat.
Deep purple color, showing virtually no signs of bricking; deep multifaceted nose of dark red/black fruits, forest floor, spice, a bit of leather. In the mouth, it is silken with fully resolved yet present tannin. Fairly full bodied, with the same flavor elements that the nose presented, with moderate length, finishing long and a kiss mineral.
How vibrant and full of life this wine was! Still on its adolescent legs, i’d say, at age 22!
Cheers to the work of the Altares and their celebrated generosity!
