2004 Domaine Dujac Morey St. Denis 1er Cru Monts-Luisants - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru (1/12/2017)
Been 5 yrs since I last had this…little worried about the dried seepage top the cork…but it poured out a beautiful golden yellow with green color. Fresh citrus and tropical fruits…pretty substantial in weight, seems denser with minerality and a good dose of spice. Lemon, grapefruit citrus cut of acidity(love 04!)…chalky crushed limestone, dried honey, white flowers, sea air…creamed up nicely with some sautéed green apples in butter to go with the hefty structure. Not so subtle and shy as before…this lady is out to party! Drinking VERY well…with plenty years left. (94 pts.)

Just open in bottle for 30mins…could use a few hours. Dense yet silky and pure dark berry fruit…slight iron fist at first, so air is your friend. Wonderful pureness with the dark berry fruit…smooth with finesse. Flowers and spices entertain the senses…but doesn’t want you to see everything, as there is a good grip to the wine…maybe even a shut down. Dusty dry tannins, crunchy minerals, some heat spice. The florals of roses and raspberry puree, and the forest, potpourri, smoked cherry spice is where the excitement is! Flavors are wonderful…just needs some more sleep to show the full package. A very satisfying, overachiever Village wine here! +pts (92 pts.)
