TN: Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur du Roi 2006

Dugat-Py Gevrey-Chambertin Coeur du Roi 2006:
Dark black color with a purple rim that seems to shield the wine’s true light-ish, feminine body. Ripe (imagine!), with a full spread of fresh red berry fruits, some earthy/brambly qualities and a quick jolt of tart acid. So far my least favorite Coeur du Roi I have tasted. Still very pleasant and easy to drink just not super compelling. 88 points

Thanks for the note, John.

I don’t (normally) purchase Dugat-Py wines, but somehow I ended up with 3 bottles of the 2002 Coeur du Roy in my cellar. Do you have any experience with that one?

The '02 is probably my favorite vintage of this. That being said I don’t love these guys. I don’t buy them regularly . . . just stumble into them every now and then.
